Dr. Xia Lin, Associate Professor, has been in the College of Information Science and Technology, Drexel University since 1997. He received his doctorate in Information Science from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1993.
Over the past 10 years, Dr. Lin has been an active researcher in the field of information visualization, information retrieval, knowledge organization, and medical informatics. He has published more than 50 research papers in these areas and has made many presentations in various national and international conferences.
His research promotes the principle of Human Computer Collaboration, a key to the future digital society. Many of his Web-based system prototypes are developed to demonstrate the principle.
Dr. Lin has been teaching various areas including Information Retrieval, Digital Libraries, Information Architecture, Human Computer Interactions, Java programming, and Database Management. His recent courses include:
